Abstract

Lacquer paints represent a crucial category in the field of surface coatings due to their combination of aesthetic appeal and protective functionality. This paper explores various types of lacquer paints including nitrocellulose, polyurethane, acrylic, epoxy, and water-based formulations. Each type has distinct chemical compositions and performance characteristics, which determine their application suitability across different industries. Through comparative analysis based on drying time, hardness, gloss retention, environmental safety, and cost-efficiency, this research provides insights into the advantages and limitations of each lacquer type. Polyurethane lacquers emerged as the most durable, while water-based acrylics were identified as the most environmentally friendly. Nitrocellulose lacquers, despite being cost-effective, showed lower durability and higher VOC emissions
